Top Hat utilizes student’s own personal devices (including iPads issued through the Digital Wolf Pack Initiative). The platform is centrally funded through a 2-year pilot meaning that all faculty and instructors can use the tool for free and there is no cost for students.

Creating your Top Hat account and connecting a course to WebCampus
- Sign into https://tophat.com and click Login in the top right corner of the screen.
- Enter University of Nevada and select University of Nevada – Reno from the list when prompted. Click Log in with school account.
- If you have used Top Hat at UNR in the past, w88 online casinoenter your email address and password and click Merge my existing account with SSO. If this is your first time using Top Hat, click on Sign-up as a Professor.
- Enter your UNR email address and your first and last name and click on Get started.
- After you are logged in, you will need to create a course. Click Create Course in the upper right corner. Follow the prompts to create a course.
- After the course has been created, you will need to connect your course on Top Hat with the course on WebCampus. Go to WebCampus and then the course in which you use Top Hat. Click on the Top Hat link on the course navigation menu. Log in to Top Hat when prompted. Select the course you want to connect with. Authorize Top Hat’s access to your course on Canvas when prompted.
