The Regional Alliance of w88 casinoINBRE Networks (RAIN) was formed to support regional collaborations focused on common scientific themes. Opportunities exist for undergraduate students from the region to participate in transformative research experiences in the RAIN states. Individual INBRE programs within RAIN host expertise-specific student programs, such as lab internships, workshops and summer camps.

Students from RAIN states (Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, and Wyoming) interested in working in Nevada may apply for a 2024 RAIN Undergraduate Research Exchange Opportunity at the University of Nevada, Reno or the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The Nevada INBRE program is offering a 10-week fellowship for students w88 casinointerested in biomedical research. In addition to doing guided research, students will attend training and seminar presentations and attend an annual summer research symposium to present their work in a professional setting.

RAIN Undergraduate Research Exchange Opportunity awards pay up to $7,200. This award is paid out as a summer student worker salary, and participating mentors will receive $1,000 to defray the cost of lab supplies.

Acceptance of this award may impact a student's income level to a degree that could affect eligibility for student loans, and other scholarship/fellowship opportunities. Participants will join the Nevada INBRE UROP cohort (June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024), but dates can be revised dependent on the home institution’s academic calendar.

RAIN applicants must write and submit a personal statement. The personal statement should be no longer than 2 pages, 12pt font, 1-inch margins, Times New Roman or Arial, and double-spaced.

Your personal statement should:

  • Describe your educational journey (you may include some personal accomplishments or setbacks, fun facts, or hobbies too!)
  • Describe your research background thus far, and also include what your research interests are and why
  • Describe any expectations you may have about this program, and the type of experience you hope to gain by the end of the program
