TheCollege of Education & Human Developmentcelebrated its annual Spring Celebration on April 15, 2025, at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Paradise Ballroom, where 150 guests gathered to honor the outstanding achievements of students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners.
The evening was a heartfelt tribute to the individuals and organizations who are shaping the future of education and human development in w88 online casino betting and beyond. A total of 27 awards were presented across categories, including research, teaching, student leadership, outreach and community engagement.

Dean Donald Easton-Brooks and Tracy Ostrem, vice president for University Advancement, welcomed guests and congratulated the honorees. A highlight of the evening was the keynote address by U.S. Women’s Rugby Olympic Bronze Medalist Stephanie Rovetti, who spoke about resilience, teamwork and the lifelong value of education.
The event also featured a silent auction showcasing original artwork by children from the College’s Child and Family Research Center (CFRC), with proceeds benefiting CFRC programs and continuing its tradition of excellence in early childhood education.

Leslie Anne Jia, Ph.D.
Jia credits programs like Dean’s Future Scholars and TRIO for supporting her academic journey at the w88 online casino betting, Reno. A former mentor for DFS students, Jia is now the director of Financial Aid, Scholarships and Student Employment at Truckee Meadows Community College.

Her daughter, Laurie Sandoval, has made her mark in Government Affairs, and two of her grandchildren have also graduated from the University. Joy Crowley is known to many Dean's Future Scholars students as "Alegría," Spanish for "Joy." Since 2018, Joy has donated food regularly to the Dean's Future Scholars program, helping ensure our students have one less thing to worry about. Her gifts have fed hundreds of students over the years and reflect her quiet, consistent care for our program. Her ties to the University also run deep. Her late husband, Joseph N.
