Matthew C. Leone is an associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and the associate director of the Grant Sawyer Center for Justice w88 casino games login at the University of Nevada, Reno. He has co-authored three books in the areas of corrections and general criminal justice and he has published many articles and presented numerous papers at regional and national conferences.

His areas of specialization include corrections and community based corrections, juvenile w88 casino games login, drugs and crime, and white collar crime. Recently, Leone has begun research projects in two new areas. The first examines the experiences and stressors encountered by crime scene investigators; and the second involves a detailed analysis of Nevada sentencing data from 2007 to present, examining the impact of offender demographics and judge characteristics on the type and length of the sentence received.

In addition to his teaching and research duties, as associate director of the Grant Sawyer Center for Justice w88 casino games login, Leone participates in grant writing and research activities with faculty from several departments at the University, as well as graduate students in social psychology and criminal justice.
