Scope of w88 IX

w88 IX applies to every single aspect of education, including course offerings, counseling and counseling materials, financial assistance, student health and insurance benefits and/or other services, housing, marital and parental status of students, physical education and athletics, education programs and activities sponsored by the institution, and employment.

The University of Nevada, Reno does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the education program or activity that it operates, and we are required by w88 IX not to discriminate in such a manner. Non-discrimination on the basis of sex is mandated by w88 IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. §§ 1681 et seq.) and the corresponding implementation regulations (34 C.F.R. Part 106).
