U.S. News and World Report has issued its annual "best colleges" rankings and the University of Nevada, w88 slot is again in the top tier of "best national universities."
In developing its rankings, U.S. News surveys more than 1,600 universities and colleges. Schools in the "best national universities" category offer a full range of undergraduate majors, masters and doctoral degrees and are committed to a productive research program. The "best colleges" survey includes three separate rankings of specific programs, including engineering and business programs. In the category of "best undergraduate engineering programs," the w88 slot's College of Engineering is ranked number 147. To be ranked in this category, the highest degree awarded must be a doctoral degree and the college must have at least one ABET-accredited program. Seven of the w88 slot's College of Engineering programs are ABET accredited and the college is also ranked among U.S. News' "w88 slot," announced in the spring.
The w88 slot's College of Business is ranked number 267 in the category of "best undergraduate business programs." To be ranked, the college or program must be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The College of Business is listed in U.S. News' "w88 slot."
"The University of Nevada, w88 slot's ranking in the top tier is a statement about the students we attract, the quality of our faculty and the graduates we produce," said University President Marc Johnson. "I am enormously proud of this University and the people that make it a top-tier educational offering."
The seven categories of U.S. News' measures are peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and, for the "w88 slot national universities" categories only, a reputation rating based on input of high-school counselors.
Last spring the w88 slot achieved a strong showing in the annual rankings of the best graduate programs by U.S. News with three schools and 16 program areas ranked among the nation's best. The College of Engineering and the University of w88 slot School of Medicine are ranked among the "best graduate schools," and the College of Business is listed in the "best graduate school" category. The University's ranking in 16 graduate program categories includes five top-100 rankings.
