Updates regarding Sierra w88 University
March 28, 2022
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
I hope this message finds you well and that the recent spring break gave you all an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, and to recharge both mentally and physically as we enter the final few weeks of the semester. Even as we put our heads down and focus on completing the semester successfully, please remember to take good care of yourself and look out for the well-being of others.
I have good news and several important updates to share with you regarding our partnership with Sierra w88 University.
- Student FAQs. This week, due in no small part to the ongoing year-long effort by our transition team led jointly by Jill Heaton, the w88’s Senior Vice Provost, and Sue Johnson, SNU’s Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration, there is now an Sierra Nevada w88 live casino + University available for both the SNU and the University of w88, Reno’s communities. The list of FAQ’s have been compiled from input gathered during previous town halls, meetings, discussions and other correspondence related to the SNU transition.
- Email updates. Additionally, a subscription-based email group has been established so that individuals can sign up to receive transition email notifications.
- Douglas Boyle named to position. Douglas Boyle, University of w88, Reno College of Science professor, has been named Associate Vice Provost for Research and Creative Activities at Lake Tahoe. Dr. Boyle’s new post is expected to formally begin on July 1, 2022. Dr. Boyle will assist in building the research and creative opportunities for faculty and students in Incline Village.
I cannot thank the members of the transition team at SNU and on our campus enough for their diligence and dedication in ensuring that the academic year has been a productive and seamless one for the students, faculty and staff at SNU. The cohesive and collaborative work of the team, both on-site in Incline Village and here on our campus in Reno has been extraordinary. I would also like to thank the w88 System of Higher Education Board of Regents, the Chancellor’s Office and the University of w88, Reno Foundation for their continued support through this process.
The partnership we’ve established through this historic agreement with SNU is yet another example of the teamwork that all of our people demonstrate, day in and day out, to further our institutional goals. Just as importantly, this coming together that we witness in the daily work of our w88 is a testament to the uncommonly good people we have at our w88. You all know inherently that when one of us succeeds, we all succeed. Thank you for the enthusiasm you share for one another, and for the wonderful work that you are doing.
Go Pack!
Sincere regards,
Brian Sandoval
President
