The Nevada Career w88 mobile is hosting two career and internship fairs Feb. 16 and 17. The fairs run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be held in the ballrooms on the fourth floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union.

The Feb. 16 Spring w88 mobile and Internship Fair is an “all industry” fair that will host employers from across industries, while the Feb. 17 fair is specifically for employers in STEM fields. These two w88 mobile fairs are an opportunity for students at the University and employers to meet in a relaxed, informal setting and offer employers the chance to promote their brands, jobs and work culture, while recruiting for open positions.

“The purpose of the fairs is to engage employers with students,” Employer Relations Liaison Gina Russo said. “We want our students to network with employers and start to create connections and relationships with employers and recruiters.”

Students are encouraged to stop by the fairs to meet specific employers after checking out Employers attending career w88 sports or casually browse the aisles of tables to see what’s out there. Employers have part-time, seasonal and full-time positions available. The fair is open to anyone from the w88 mobile community.

“Stroll through the ballrooms, and visit, network and connect with employers,” Russo said. “Share your resume and cover letter. Pick up business cards. Expect 100 employers in the ballrooms from the private and non-profit sectors and public agencies (government) and all w88 mobile campus departments in the corridor next to check-in.”

After checking in at the fair, students will receive a map indicating which employers are at which tables. Students who attend the fair should dress in business casual attire. Russo also encourages interested attendees to send follow-up emails and thank-you cards to employers after meeting to improve their chances.

“Some students even set up an interview for that day,” Russo said.

The Nevada Career w88 mobile is also hosting two Prepare for the Fair events Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Students who attend can work with a w88 mobile or peer mentor from the NCS to polish their resumes and cover letters for the fairs. The NCS can also help students with networking skills, conduct mock interviews and provide assistance using Handshake to search for employers and jobs that might be a good fit or of interest to them.
