Bob earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University in 1967 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1973.

Lew and JoAnn ventured into the Apaloosa horse industry in the late 1960s and become world-renowned for their work. Their achievements included Lew’s induction into the National Mining Hall of Fame, their induction in the National Apaloosa Horse Club Hall of Fame, and their Lifetime Achievement Award from the City of Carlin. They established the Sagebrush Circuit Youth Scholarship Fund, with JoAnn serving on the American Legion Scholarship Committee and were honored for their lifetime of service by State of w88 online game’s governor.
