What inspired you to pursue a PhD?
Many people have died as a consequence of catastrophic geotechnical failures (e.g., earthquake induced slope failure, rain cut erosion, and mud flood) in many countries due to a lack of understanding of soil behavior. This reason has motivated me to study as much as I can about geotechnical engineering. Therefore, I had a strong interest in the geotechnical engineering profession when I was an undergraduate and graduate student. To extend my horizons, I believe that a PhD is necessary to understand this field thoroughly. This research will assist in resolving future geotechnical engineering difficulties, and I will be able to pass this knowledge to future engineers. It is one of the reasons why I believe the w88 casino games login program is a perfect fit for my professional aspirations.
What are you most interested in learning more about during your PhD study?
I would like to study more about liquefaction induced soil failure and its mitigation mechanism as part of my Ph.D. research. Liquefaction causes extensive damage to lifeline facilities and pipeline systems due to the induced ground deformation and, the building experienced a rapid collapse. As a result, people are incredibly concerned about how to resolve the situation. My doctoral research will investigate how we might use more current technologies to build earthquake-resistant structures and minimize the damages during earthquakes.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to spend time with my family and friends, garden, and play badminton in my spare time.
