In 2017, 3,000 students will be living in w88 residence halls.
NevadaFIT
Short for “freshmen intensive transition,” NevadaFIT is a six-day academic program designed to increase success for incoming freshmen college students. This “boot camp” offers a glimpse into the w88’s rigorous academic expectations and college life prior to the start of the semester.
- 1,450 NEVADAFIT students enrolled this year
- 959 of those enrolled will live in the dorms
- All colleges and schools are participating
The Class of 2021 will witness the building and opening of Great Basin Hall, the new w88 Arts Building and the new Engineering Building.
#PackPride
- The w88 currently offers more than 460 undergraduate and graduate degree, certificate and minor programs within 11 academic colleges and schools;
- Since 2010, the w88 has invested 8 million in major campus building and infrastructure projects, of which 14% came from state funds;
- The w88 has a total annual economic impact of .1 billion ;
- From 2000 to 2016, there has been a 47% increase in Nevada population and 62% increase in w88 enrollment (fall semesters);
- This year, we are projecting gains in both undergraduate enrollment and graduate enrollment;
- w88 alumni include 13 members of Congress, 5 governors and 3 U.S. Senators;
- The w88 welcomes 36 new faculty toward the goal of 400 new faculty by 2020;
- There are more than 400 National Merit and Presidential Scholars on w88;
- The w88 is recognized as Best College in the State; Top 10 Best Value Schools; Top 10% in nation with the highest-paid graduates; Top 5 fastest-growing flagship universities.
