The week celebrates the continuing success of Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP), a college access program providing students and families living in poverty the support and resources they need for college success.

Nevada w88 online live casino GEAR UP will celebrate National GEAR UP Week 2017 by hosting GEAR UP Success Night 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, at the University's Joe Crowley Student Union in the Milt Glick Ballroom. GEAR UP students will share their success stories, and attendees will enjoy a night of inspiration and light refreshments. The public is invited, but registration is required. The Nevada w88 online live casino GEAR UP Program goals include: 1) academic preparation: Increase academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education; 2) graduation and college: Increase high school graduation rate and participation in postsecondary education; 3) knowledge: Increase student and parent/family knowledge of postsecondary education options, preparation, and financing; and 4) college-going culture: Create a college-going culture in GEAR UP schools to ensure all students have the opportunity, support, guidance, and information to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for and succeed in postsecondary education.
