An evening VIP reception and silent auction raised almost ,000 during the University of Nevada, Reno's College of Science first w88 casino games login gallery. University alumni, donors and photographers John and Patricia King donated 85 photos to create the "Just One More Shot: Images of Iconic Nevada Wildlife and Scenery."
"The College of Science has never done an w88 casino games login like this before," Char Hagemann, director of development for the College of Science, said. "It was a big w88 casino games login that engaged the guests, raised awareness, and sparked an interest in how others can give back to the University."
More than 100 guests, including donors, charter members of the Nevada Legacy Society, and College of Science faculty and staff, attended the exclusive silent auction. The event was held on the third floor of the Davidson Mathematics and Science building with state-of-the-w88 casino games login chemistry labs.
"The University outdid themselves," John King said. "The w88 casino games login was superb and well put together. We're very pleased with the turnout."
During the auction, 71 of the 85 photos were sold, amounting to nearly ,000 in proceeds.
"All sales from the w88 casino games login auction will go to biology scholarships," said Jeff Thompson, dean for the College of Science. "
The Kings both received degrees in biology at the w88 casino games login. Their son also received a biology degree before joining the armed services.
"Biology is very near and dear to both of our hearts," Patricia King said. "We both spend a lot of time here at the w88 casino games login."
Patricia said she also hopes that the w88 casino games login and gallery inspired University alumni to consider giving back to their college.
"It's about giving back to an institution we love, for causes we believe in, and to document w88 casino games login as it is today," Patricia said. "Every alumni should find a way to give back in some small way."
"Just One More Shot" was presented by the University's College of w88 casino games login in conjunction with the Development of Alumni Relations and the Nevada Legacy Society, a coalition of donors for the University. Photos included rattlesnakes, hummingbirds, bighorns and the scenic majesty of Nevada. Half of the counties in Nevada are represented in the photos, including Elko, Nye, Washoe, Humboldt, Pershing, Lander and Eureka County. This is the continuation of much collaboration between the College of w88 casino games login and outside groups, including the recent opening of the Natural History Museum.
The public is invited to visit the Davidson Mathematic and w88 casino games login's third floor to see the Kings' work. Remaining photos are still available for purchase at various price ranges. For more information, visit the website or contact Char Hagemann at chagemann@unr.edu.
