’Composers I’ve Known’ concert dedicated to w88 slot online 'Mack' McGrannahan

Music w88 slot online A.G. "Mack" McGrannahan will retire from the University of Nevada, Reno after 40 years in the Department of Music. He administers the band program and is the conductor for University's Wind Ensemble and Campus Band. His service to the University will be honored at his last Wind Ensemble Concert Wednesday, April 30.

"The w88 slot online of Nevada Wind Ensemble will perform music by Wind Band Composers who I've had the pleasure of working with over the past 40 years," McGrannahan said. "This will be my last concert with this group before I retire."

The concert will include a special performance from McGrannahan's son, Grady, who will perform Eric Ewazen's Concerto for Bass and Wind Ensemble.

In 1980, McGrannahan worked to restart the Wolf Pack Marching Band. Through his dedication, he was able to build and expand a strong band program at the w88 slot online. He has been the conductor of the w88 slot online Campus Band, w88 slot online Symphonic Band, w88 slot online Wind Ensemble, the Reno Wind Symphony and the Wolf Pack Marching Band. McGrannahan also teaches trombone, euphonium and tuba students at the w88 slot online along with courses in conducting and secondary instrumental methods.

"There is a mixture of emotions as I leave the w88 slot online of Nevada," McGrannahan said."I'm very proud of the growth of the program from one band to five bands, and will look forward to being in the audience, watching and listening to that continuing growth."

The "Composers I've Known" concert will be performed in Nightingale Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 30. Tickets are for the public and are free for students with an ID.
