A new book, "Waiting for the Cars," features 218 of Alfred A. Hart's nineteenth-century 3-D railroad photographs of the construction of the Central Pacific Railroad through Nevada and California. The 3-D images were researched and digitally transformed by Reynolds School of Journalism w88 online game Howard Goldbaum. The book includes the required 3-D glasses. Published by the Nevada State Railroad Museum, the text is by railroad historian Wendell Huffman. In addition to the many images of locomotives and railroad activity, also included are photographs of towns, depots, and other structures from Sacramento to Elko and beyond. The book's website features sample pages of the book's text and 18 3-D images, plus other media.
