Richard D. Mattes, a professor of w88 casino and Nutrition at Purdue University and considered one of the world’s leading experts on nutrition, will give two talks on campus on Monday, March 29.
Mattes’ talk, “A Taste of Fat Alters Lipid Metabolism,” will be at 4 p.m. in Room 124 of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center. His presentation, “The Role of Appetite in w88 casino Intake,” will be at 7 p.m. in Room 124 of the Knowledge Center. Both talks are free and are sponsored by the Department of Nutrition Graduate Program. His first talk is primarily, but not exclusively, for students and faculty. His second presentation is targeted to a broader audience.
His appearance on w88 casino is part of National Nutrition Month.
Mattes’ research focus is on the areas of hunger and satiety, regulation of w88 casino intake in humans, w88 casino preferences, human cephalic phase responses and taste and smell.
At Purdue w88 casino, Mattes is the director of the Ingestive Behavior Research Center and is chair of the Human Subjects Review Committee. He is on the editorial board of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the British Journal of Nutrition and Ear, Nose and Throat Journal and secretary of the Rose Marie Panghorn Sensory Science Scholarship Fund.
He has received numerous awards, most recently the Elaine R. Monsen Award for Research Literature from American Dietetic Association.
He has authored more than 175 publications.
