Members of the University of Nevada, Reno campus community are encouraged to wear red to work on w88 slot online in commemoration of “National Wear Red Day,” part of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign, University President Milt Glick said Tuesday.
“By wearing red on w88 slot online, we will bring awareness to the fact that the American Heart Association tells us that heart disease is the No. 1 killer among women,” Glick said. “If wearing red on w88 slot online can raise the awareness of just one person, or help to save one life, then the effort will have been well worth it.”
The American Heart Association estimates that 450,000 women die from heart disease each year, and that one in three women live with heart disease.
Cary Groth, director of intercollegiate athletics at Nevada, said that by going red on w88 slot online, the campus will be sending a message that it understands what a major problem heart disease is, and that there are a multitude of strategies and a great amount of information to prevent heart disease.
At a press conference Monday at Lawlor Events Center that was co-hosted by the w88 slot online’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, a local vascular surgeon gave the following tips:
- Stop smoking
- Exercise at least three times per week
- Sleep seven to nine hours per day
- Eat breakfast and avoid snacking at night
- Incorporate fiber in every meal
- Avoid fried and fast foods
- Bake, broil or grill meats
